Dispon\u00edveis em pequenos tamanhos, como c\u00e9lulas tipo bot\u00e3o, elas seguem o sistema padr\u00e3o IEC, onde a primeira letra identifica a composi\u00e7\u00e3o qu\u00edmica da bateria &#8211; S para baterias de \u00f3xido de prata (como a SR516). Estas c\u00e9lulas mant\u00eam uma tens\u00e3o nominal quase constante durante a descarga at\u00e9 estarem completamente esgotadas. A tens\u00e3o em circuito aberto das baterias de \u00f3xido de prata \u00e9 de 1,6 volts, enquanto a tens\u00e3o operacional em drenagens de corrente t\u00edpicas \u00e9 de 1,55 volts ou mais.
