Le comportement de l&rsquo;onde \u00e0 l&rsquo;interface est d\u00e9termin\u00e9 par les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des milieux, telles que leur permittivit\u00e9, leur perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9 et leur conductivit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h2>R\u00e9flexion<\/h2>\n<p>La r\u00e9flexion se produit lorsqu&rsquo;une partie de l&rsquo;onde \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique incidente est redirig\u00e9e dans le milieu d&rsquo;origine. L&rsquo;angle d&rsquo;incidence (l&rsquo;angle entre l&rsquo;onde incidente et la normale de la surface) est \u00e9gal \u00e0 l&rsquo;angle de r\u00e9flexion (l&rsquo;angle entre l&rsquo;onde r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie et la normale de la surface). La r\u00e9flexion est influenc\u00e9e par les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des mat\u00e9riaux, l&rsquo;angle d&rsquo;incidence et la polarisation de l&rsquo;onde. Lorsque l&rsquo;interface entre les milieux est un bon conducteur, la majorit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie incidente est r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie.<\/p>\n<h2>R\u00e9fraction<\/h2>\n<p>La r\u00e9fraction est le changement de direction d&rsquo;une onde \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique lorsqu&rsquo;elle passe d&rsquo;un milieu \u00e0 un autre, en raison de la diff\u00e9rence de vitesse de la lumi\u00e8re dans les deux milieux. Cela provoque la courbure de l&rsquo;onde \u00e0 l&rsquo;interface, suivant la loi de Snell : n<sub>1<\/sub> * sin(\u03b8<sub>1<\/sub>) = n<sub>2<\/sub> * sin(\u03b8<sub>2<\/sub>) o\u00f9 n<sub>1<\/sub> et n<sub>2<\/sub> sont les indices de r\u00e9fraction des premier et second milieux, et \u03b8<sub>1<\/sub> et \u03b8<sub>2<\/sub> sont les angles d&rsquo;incidence et de r\u00e9fraction respectivement. L&rsquo;indice de r\u00e9fraction (n) est li\u00e9 \u00e0 la permittivit\u00e9 (\u03b5) et \u00e0 la perm\u00e9abilit\u00e9 (\u03bc) du milieu comme suit : n = \u221a(\u03b5 * \u03bc)<\/p>\n<h2>Transmission<\/h2>\n<p>La transmission se produit lorsqu&rsquo;une partie de l&rsquo;onde \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique incidente traverse l&rsquo;interface et continue de se propager dans le second milieu. La quantit\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie transmise d\u00e9pend des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des milieux, de l&rsquo;angle d&rsquo;incidence et de la polarisation de l&rsquo;onde. Dans certains cas, comme lorsque l&rsquo;angle d&rsquo;incidence d\u00e9passe l&rsquo;angle critique pour la r\u00e9flexion totale interne, aucune transmission ne se produit, et toute l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie incidente est r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie dans le premier milieu.<\/p>\n<p>Les fractions de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie de l&rsquo;onde \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique incidente qui sont r\u00e9fl\u00e9chies, r\u00e9fract\u00e9es et transmises d\u00e9pendent des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des milieux et de l&rsquo;angle d&rsquo;incidence et de la polarisation de l&rsquo;onde.
